the refreshment stand

my favourite drinks

ice water

we'll start with the basics first. a cold cup of water is nice for a few reasons. cold drinks are refreshing, and can help with drowsiness for me. so if i'm not able to start a pot of coffee, a glass of cold ice water is a good place to start

coffee, iced

as i've grown older, i drink a lot more coffee. since i have ADHD, coffee doesn't really energize me. the best way i can describe it is, tightening things up. sometimes it clears the barrage of thoughts in my head, which is pretty helpful. i've grown towards drinking it iced, honestly because i can drink it right away. no need to let it cool down. maybe this is barbaric, but usually i just let the coffee cool down in the pot, and pour a cup and add ice. this works for me

i stick to light and medium roasts, as i heard they contain more caffeine. also, dark roast is just too harsh for me

i drink my coffee plain, but i've also enjoyed it with oat milk too!

iced tea, unsweetened, with lemon

this is usually my favorite thing to get if i am out somewhere and getting food. so i'll usually have this at a restaurant. people seem to not like getting lemon with their tea at a restaurant. i've been told when i finally have a bad experience with this i'll understand why. so i guess for now i'll keep having it with lemon. i get it without sugar, because i like how it tastes. i've also found that sugary drinks usually just make me more thirsty. so unsweetened iced-tea with lemon is a nice upgrade from just ice water
