the computer is my friend
How do you use the Internet? Is it just a tool, entertainment, the center of your life?
i think the internet is one of, if not the most important invention in my life. as i've grown up and am now a grown up, the internet was always just "my place". i've made friends (and lost them) both on and offline. but the internet, has always been "my place"
i'm not looking to be some viral superstar, some one trick pony meme account. i seek and find genuine connection online in ways i simply haven't offline. through wonderful communities. through public spaces online, i find wonderful people. passing conversation is wonderful, the friends i've made and have now are the best i've ever had (they are my friends, friendship isn't lonely anymore). and it has helped me better understand what i want in my life
i know that the world around me is very important too. i want to move one day and be surrounded by the loveliness of the physical world as well. i know it is out there, that it exists in people. that i can find connection off of the computer too. i know i will get there. for now i venture out into the world occasionally. big stores are too much for me, but i've found just walking around to be lovely. i love to take pictures. look around, enjoy the every day. i've been told this is what it is to be present. i'm not sure yet, but if it is, i'm glad i may finally be finding presence
