What do you remember about your first computer and learning to use it?
the first computer i had was a Pionex. it looked like this one:
looking at it now, it doesn't seem all that special. i've had a few computers after this, and really they all do the same thing more or less. i mean, technology has advanced sure, but it is basically same as it was in my case. we can probably make a list:
- top-of-list
- play video games
- listen to music
- get weirdly entranced by the system your interacting with .. don't do anything about it though
- find community through the computer then fuck yourself up over it
- find a reason to think you love and hate the computer ... really you're just indecisive (i didn't know how to spell that but the computer does)
- have a momentary freak out (understanding) that red wiggly lines are just as fucked up as red pen on a paper? no it is probably just you again

ok .. ok so specifically this computer, what do i remember about it?
- it has a great momentary power switch
- it had a cd-rom and cd-rw drive making me a dependency on people that actually listened to music in my life
- it had windows 98
- it was actually broken (my fault probably) so my mom took it to work and got it fixed (my fault probably)
- then it had windows 98 se
- it had a 450mhz pentium ii
- it had 64mb of ram
- when i got it back after giving it to someone i killed it out of my own incompetence
i wonder if she actually likes computers
